A BETTER APPROACH TO LIFE
Divorce is one of the most disorienting experiences a person can go through. Whether you’re in the middle of the process, newly on the other side, or years out and still feeling the weight of it — the grief, the anger, the uncertainty, and the identity questions don’t follow a neat timeline. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Frisco, TX, I offer divorce therapy that gives you more than a space to process. I give you directionMany women come to me after working with other therapists who listened well but never told them the truth. They felt heard but not helped. My approach is different. I am interactive and direct. I will speak honestly about what I see in your situation — including the unforgiveness that’s keeping you stuck, the resentment that’s quietly driving your decisions and the places where a different perspective is needed. Listening and validating matter. So does moving forward. We do both.
Divorce therapy looks different depending on where you are in the process. I work with women at every stage:
• In the middle of divorce — navigating the legal process, the emotional upheaval, and the daily reality of a life being reorganized around you
• Newly divorced — finding your footing, rebuilding your identity, and learning what comes next when the life you planned no longer exists
• Years out — still carrying it — many women believe they should be “over it” by now. But coparenting keeps you connected to your ex in ways that reopen old wounds. A new relationship or remarriage on their end can hit harder than you expected. The grief doesn’t always follow the timeline you planned for it.
Coparenting
If you have children, divorce therapy isn’t just about you — it’s about the environment your children are growing up in. I work with parents on the practical and emotional realities of coparenting: how to communicate with an ex when communication is hard, how to keep children from carrying the weight of adult discord, and how to build a stable, healthy home even when the other household operates differently. Your children need you to do this work. That’s not pressure — it’s permission to take it seriously.
Faith Deminsion
For women of faith, divorce carries an additional layer. There is often grief that goes beyond the marriage itself — grief about what you believed your life would look like, questions about God’s plan, and sometimes shame or judgment from a faith community that doesn’t know how to hold this well. I understand that dimension. Your faith doesn’t have to be set aside to do this work — it can be part of how you find your way through it. We address the spiritual and emotional together.
What We Work On
In divorce therapy we work through:
• Grief — the loss of the marriage, the life you expected, and sometimes the person you thought you knew
• Anger and resentment — understanding it, expressing it healthily, and releasing what’s keeping you stuck
• Forgiveness — not as minimizing what happened, but as freeing yourself from carrying it
• Identity — who you are now, what you want, and how to rebuild with intention
• Coparenting — practical strategies for navigating a shared parenting relationship with an ex
• Faith questions — reconciling what you believe with what you’ve experienced
• Actionable next steps — because insight without direction only gets you so far
